Itinerary

Day 1: Mollepata – Soraypampa

The first day of the Inca Trail Salkantay Trek Tour to Machu Picchu will begin with the hotel pick-up at 4:30 am to go by bus to the town of Mollepata, where we will enjoy our breakfast and then continue our trip on the same bus until we reach Challacancha (3600 masl) which is the starting point of the Salkantay trek, our walk lasts 3 hours in which we can appreciate the flora and fauna of the Peruvian Andes, ends in our first camp called Soraypampa where We will also enjoy a nutritious lunch, after enjoying a well-deserved nap we will go towards the Humantay lagoon, a lagoon that is surrounded by the imposing apus of Humantay and Salkantay.

Day 2: Soraypampa – Chaullay

We take our breakfast Approx. At 6:30 AM. and we begin our hike to the top of the whole hike 4650 m.s.n.m. located in the middle of the road between 2 mountains Salkantay on the right and Tucarhuay on the left the famous Umantay. We will enjoy the view of 2 snowfalls, after a rest we will continue our walk through a forest cloud towards Huayracpunku where we will have lunch, then we will go to our second camp located in Chaullay or Colcapampa 3000 m.a.s.l.

Day 3: Chaullay – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

The next morning, after a good breakfast, we headed by bus to Hidroélectra. It is optional to reserve zip lines or hot springs in the morning. After this activity, the bus will take you to the rest of the group to Hidroélectrica, where we will enjoy our lunch. We can relax here for a while, then we will continue walking along the train track that leads through this great jungle that the Incas knew by heart until our final destination: Aguas Calientes. We walk for approximately 3 hours and, along the way, you will find beautiful waterfalls, different ecological farms and possibly the curious fauna of your arrival in the region at 5 pm. Here the group will spend the night in a hostel. In the evening we will all meet at a local restaurant to enjoy a great dinner and have an informative meeting about our next excursion to Machu Picchu.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Chachabamba – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes

The majestic Inca Trail begins very early with the transfer from your hotel to the train station. 3 hours train ride to Km 104. When you get off the train at this point the guide awaits us. We begin the walk visiting the ruins of Chachabamba. Then we continue the path through a small and refreshing waterfall until we reach the ruins of Wiñay Wayna and its impressive platforms, as a sign of the skills of the Inca engineers. After lunch we restart the walk to Inti Punku (or Puerta del Sol), from where we will have the first, panoramic and spectacular view of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. We will take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes to spend the night.

Day 5: Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

The last day of the Inca Trail Salkantay Trek Tour starts at 5:30 am, we begin the walk to Machu Picchu, where we will have a guided tour of the different sectors of the archaeological complex, including the Intihuatana or solar clock, used by the ancients Peruvian settlers To climb the mountain of Huaynapicchu you can choose the 2nd group 10 am, it takes approximately one hour of walking but really worth it, the view is impressive and the experience will be unforgettable (optional) At a certain time you must take the bus down from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes and then we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cusco.
